Carlton Camp November 2007

Here are some of the activities the Y6 children enjoyed at Carlton this year.

Here we are settling in on our first night. Were all sitting in the lounge.
Getting ready for our 1st challenge
Could we work as a team under and over obstacles, without spilling the water?!
We had to get through the spiders web without touching it - and only use a space once. Easier than it looks!!

Here we are climbing the 3 hills. And it was hard!!!

All having a well earned rest at the top

This is sledge racing. It really needed team work. 1, 2, 3, left, 1, 2, 3 right. You have to get a rhythm going.

Here we are orienteering at Cod Beck reservoir
We used a compass and clues to find our way out of the forest.
Time for a quick photo shoot (and a quick rest!) before we head on our way

Lunch break at last, have to keep our strength up with all this exercise!

Good balance needed here, Don't want to fall in - we must avoid the crocodiles!

Here were all ready for the disco, don't know were we found the energy after all the activities we have done! But we managed.
We even managed to find some time for less strenuous activities and to relax in the lounge

Team work needed to make the shelter waterproof and comfortable.

Clambering under a fallen tree.

We also spotted a huge wild sheep on our forest adventure.
Climbing through the dark tunnels, yet another challenge.
This is weasling, getting through very tight spaces in rocks - not easy, some of us got stuck!!!

In the gully - we walked downhill through a stream and got lovely and wet and muddy. See it is fun really!

Here we are preparing for the high ropes. Firstly everyone has to be harnessed up for safety, the instructor then explains what we have to do, along with safety rules, before we can begin.
Starting at the bottom and importantly working together in teams to help each other up. We manage to get to the first level!
Now onto the second level, one at a time, pulling each other up, this is hard work - really!
There we go second level at last. Now up once more, were nearly there - Well almost

This activity needed nerve, concentration and lots of effort. You needed good teamwork to complete this activity.

Hooray, we made it to the top. Now all we have to do is get back down!!!!!!!!

Another climbing marathon, we had to get our harnesses on first again, don't want anyone falling. Then we had to climb up poles with pegs in for steps. Good work out for the legs and arms. Good fun too!

Although this was nerve wracking, it felt brilliant to jump into space and touch the red ball. What an achievement!!!!!!

So there we are our week at Carlton, we hope you have enjoyed looking through our snaps, because we had a brilliant time.
