Tees Dance

A selection of photo's of the children in class 4 along with the Y6's

Tees dance came to work with pupils from Grange. There were two dancers, Geoff and Mona
They taught us a style of dance called "Contemporary
We began by copying Geoff to warm up. We were very hot when we finished this!
Geoff and Mona taught us that all movement comes from stillness. We tried very hard at this!
All children of different abilities took part. We are circling our "spot" on the floor to a count of eight
We watched a demonstration of a jump. Our classmates got very high!
The dance was performed in two groups, Geoff was the leader of one, Mona was the leader of the other
We had to stand with attitude whilst the others performed. Oh boy were we good at attitude!
Check out the attitude on us!!!!
One group performing whilst the others stood with the "attitude"!!
We learnt how to use each other to balance upon
We practised using different body parts to lean on. By the smiles you can tell this was fun.
We had a great morning and learnt a lot about dance. Thank you Geoff and Mona

The Y6's get in on the act

Year 6 worked with Mona and Geoff from Tees Dance. Here we are warming up. Shake out those arms!
We listened carefully whilst Geoff demonstrated movements. In fact we couldn't take our eyes off him!
Look at our attitude! We had to watch as the other performed
Here is Mona leading the way. We danced against each other. The smiles show just how much fun we had!
