Special thanks...

They are'nt really that old - but what a great photo!!To Dianne and Paul Butler,
of Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.A. who read about our plight on these web pages. They sent us an inspiring email that we feature in our 'special edition' newsletter.

Along with the kind words, Dianne and Paul,  also sent us a Toshiba Laptop Computer!

With losing so many of our computers, it was a most welcome gift that is already being put to work.

Dianne and Paul have a web site too, acknowledged as an authoritative place to learn about Badgers, it's both educational and entertaining. Find it at: http://www.badgers.org/

Mr and Mrs. Butler we thank you so much.

Dawn and Charley Amsbaugh

Deserving a special mention are Dawn and Charley Amsbaugh from Maryland, U.S.A. They both made the long journey to San Diego to see their son Brent return when the USS John C. Stennis sailed into the bay for the first time.

Dawn took photo's of the event, some of which you'll see in Hartley's log for August. Charley recorded the event on his video camera. He then spent many hours over several weeks editing and copying the tapes which were sold to other families who had loved ones on board.

The proceeds he has donated to the school, Charley and Dawn, the children, staff and families of Grange School can't thank you enough for working so hard on our behalf.

Who very generously completed a famous half-marathon called the "Great North Run" and through sponsors raised several hundred pounds for the school fund.

He completed the run in just over two hours.

He's seen here being presented with a special "Hartley" T-Shirt to wear for the run, you'll notice that Hartley was there for the presentation of the T-shirt too, Mrs. Nowell's class got to keep Hartley in their class for that week having had the best attendance record for the week before.

A signed team shirt from Hartlepool Footbal Club.Hartlepool Football Club

Donated us an authentic team shirt - signed by all of the players.

The shirt will raise cash for the school fund by being auctioned, or perhaps as a major prize in a raffle.

a donation of history resources.Hartlepool Headland Local History Group

When our Junior school was destroyed we lost everything, every teaching resource that we had built up over the years was destroyed.

So when the local history group donated a videotape and booklets it was the beginning of our history resources being rebuilt.
