Welcome to Class 7
Literacy
This half term in literacy, we have been looking at myths and legends. We read different myths and discovered the author's use of adjectives and description . We also noticed that the stories contained lots of different settings in which the characters faced fierce monsters!
We are now creating our own power point presentations. Come back later to see these!
Numeracy
We are continuing to work very hard in numeracy. Over the past two weeks, we have been doing work on problem solving. We follow these steps when we solve problems:
1. Read the problem carefully.
2. Underline the important information.
3. Decide which operation is needed to solve the problem.
4. Write down the calculation.
5. Solve the calculation using an appropriate strategy.
6. Check the answer.
Science
In science, we are focusing on temperature. We have been completing investigations to find out how hot and cold things are. We all know how to read the temperature from a thermometer!
ICT
This half term, we are learning all about databases. We are in the process of completing our own school questionnaire which we hope to turn into a database.
