The Role of a Governor

Who are Governors?

The Governing body is a group of people who are responsible for certain aspects of school life. Governors certainly have responsibilities, but they don’t exercise them as individuals. They are people who have an interest in the good education of children and are prepared to work alongside the Headteacher and school staff.

The school is managed by its management team led by the Headteacher. Governors help in the management of the school, they will meet with other governors to consider the schools plan for the future, review how the school is organised and advise on decisions about the school budget.

There is a full Governors Meeting twice a term that all Governors attend, along with Staff Governors and the Headteacher.
