Friends of Grange

Our efforts in the Shoe Box appeal

The friends of Grange are a voluntary group who raise funds for the school. We usually meet once every half term and we are always on the look-out for new members. We are a non-profitable group and all money raised is put back into the school.

We raise money for the school through events such as, discos and school fayres.

The money we raise has been spent on various items which include:

The purchase of waterproof ponchos for our Reception children.

A set of cameras for our school Camera Club

Story sacks for KS1 pupils

self designed T-shirts for Y6 leavers

donations to the shoe box appeal

£100 donation to PACT support group towards their Christmas party

Every year the school takes part in the Operation Christmas Child Appeal and the friends of Grange organise the packing of the boxes. Staff and pupils collect items such as toiletries and small toys which are then packed in decorated shoe boxes. These are then labelled for the suitability of boy or girl and age related too. The boxes are then collected and sent to countries affected by war or natural disasters, such as famine or drought.

This year (2007) the school collected 53 boxes which were sent to Romania and Serbia.

Here are the shoe boxes that were filled with goodies
Here they are being collected for distribution. A couple of Y6 pupils help with the loading up of the parcels. Mrs Hamilton gives a helping hand too!
