School Council

Welcome to Grange Primary School Council

Why do we have a School's Council?

The School's Council is a great opportunity for pupils to get more involved in the way the school is run. The School Council gives pupils a chance to voice their ideas and feelings and influence any decisions that are made.

Our Current Members are:

What do we do?
Members of the Council take part in discussions and votes and also feed back any relevant information to their class. They are often requested to ask their class for ideas or take class votes relating to discussions by the Council.

Members meet every Wednesday after school.

What have we done so far?
The School's Council has discussed ideas for play-time and lunch-time, including what games should be played and what equipment should be bought and how to make things run more smoothly.  This resulted in a rota being made for each year group to access the timber trail. The feedback from this so far is that it is working really well.

  • The pupils decided children should come to school wearing something spotty or non uniform to raise money for Children in Need. We raised over £400! Well done everyone!
  • The pupils have recently been looking at healthy options for breakfast and are looking forward to tasting some new samples.
  • We have discussed the environment and making an Eco committee and this will start in January.
  • Year 5/6 children have requested a mirror to be fitted in their toilets.  Mr Barret is currently sourcing this.
  • All school council children now proudly wear a badge so they can be identified by their peers and staff.
  • We have a question of the week to get opinions from fellow pupils.
