Years 3 & 4 went to Nature's World in Middlesbrough to look at the habitats of different creatures. We have been looking at habitats in Science. We followed the trail around Nature's World to see what kind of insects we could find in the different areas. There is a Wildflower meadow which has lots of wildflower, woodland and wetland plants growing. Woodland plants grow in shady places, wetland plants grow in wet places of course and wildflowers are everywhere but we often just call these weeds. Lots of wild plants were used by our ancestors to make medicines and some were foods, like wild strawberries and wild garlic. There were lots of different kinds of gardens such as the bee garden, forest garden, japanese garden and the Apothecaries (medicine) garden and lots more. |

There were miniatures of the transporter bridge and newport bridge crossing the 'model' river Tees. Here we are crossing over ourselves. |

As well as the small creatures we saw such as ladybirds, snails, butterfly's, frogs etc there were also some geese and goats roaming around their habitats. We walked through the 'compost heap' which showed what creatures live there like worms and beetles, it also didn't smell very nice either!!! |

A quick go of the slide before we go, hard work getting back up to the top though, much easier coming down. |
