Christ Church Gallery

The Children had a questionnaire which took them on an Historical Trail around Church Street.

They found some foundation stones in some buildings, along with who laid them and when. There were also statues of Ralph Ward Jackson, the founding father of West Hartlepool and William Gray whose Company was the largest firm of shipbuilders in the Hartlepools

The children visited the Gallery in Church Street to look at the architecture of the different styles of windows and doors. They took photographs of a variety of styles which would be later used in their art lessons. They looked at the oldest street in Hartlepool, Scarborough Street, which still has many of the original buildings.
Here are some fabulous views from the top of Christ Church tower. Luckily it was a lovely bright day so we could see the Marina and the Football Stadium very clearly.
