Our Y5 Puppet show

The Y5 children were given a challenge by Mrs Wilson to write and produce a play for the KS1 children, but it had to done in a day!!

Quite a challenge!!

They got their inspiration from looking at the puppets. The play was called 'Ella's Cakes'

Below are photographs of how the day went. And the captions for each photograph have also been written by the children explaining what they did.

We picked out the puppets we were going to use
We looked at the puppets carefully to find the right personalities
Had another good look to make sure we had chosen the puppets we wanted

Here we are designing the scenery for the show. This had to be drawn onto white material and then coloured in carefully.

Having a little practice, getting used to working the puppets

We showed the teachers the puppets we had chosen and then rehearsed a lot!!

We worked together and discussed the play and all the ideas the group came up with

We typed up our scripts on the computer, everyone needed a copy to follow

We then did a full rehearsal for our teacher. Hoping all would go well!
Then the reception children came in and we performed our first puppet show.
Our show had songs and one of the songs was Bob the Builder.

At the end of the performance we danced to the music
The show was a big success. Thank goodness!!
Overall the children loved the show. All our hard work was worth it.

We enjoyed playing with the puppets and had a great time performing our play. Thanks for taking a look.
