Term 1
Our first topic in Year 3 is Extreme Earth. If you look on the curriculum map on our class page you will see all of the different skills and facts that are in this topic. We are going to be 'extremely' busy!
Our first trip was to Tees Mouth Field Centre to look at the journey of the River Tees. Some of us were a little nervous about going on the transporter bridge - but we all made it back!
Wow! What a fabulous day we had looking at rocks and completing experiments on them. The staff at Teesmouth Fieldcentre were impressed with how much the children knew about the three different types of rocks. The photos show all of the different rocks and other things we found on the beach as well as some of the experiments being carried out.
Halloween Disco
There were lots of super costumes and super dancing at the Halloween Disco!
Christmas Performance
The Year 3 and 4 Christmas Performance of 'Shine' was fantastic. The children performed with confidence and every word could be heard - even without microphones!
Science Parent Event
Near the end of term parents and carers were invited into school to carry out a science investigation with the children in Year 3. Everyone enjoyed finding out which material was the most refelctive. There was also enough time to show how light is split into the colours of the rainbow!
