In our second term our topic is Paws, Claws and Whiskers.  During this term we will be learning about animals in our curriculum and topic work.

In English we will be learning how to write simple sentences using capital letters for names of people and places- whilst looking at Traditional Tales. Our Author of the term is Martin Waddell. 

In Maths we will be learning about place value with numbers up to 50 and addition and subtraction to 20. 

In Geography we will be learning about the UK, it's countries and it's seas.

In Music we will be learning how to create simple rhythms. 

In Art we will be exploring how to use paper and materials to create masks . 

In Science we will be learning about animals and humans. 

In Computing we will be learning how to create a simple report using text and images. 

WOW Day

To begin our topic we had a visit from Animal Story. We learned all about animals that have paws, claws and whiskers. We got to look at and feel some of the animals that Martyn from Animal Story brought to show us. Our favourites were the owl and the house rabbit!

Animal Exploration

As part of our Science work we have been exploring the school grounds for signs of different animals. We were looking for signs of different animal groups. We found some evidence of mammals, invertebrates and birds.

From our findings we concluded that there was not enough wildlife benefitting from our school grounds, so we made bird feeders to attract them.
