Welcome to Y2! 

Homework

Reading is really important and we would like children to read every night for about 20 minutes to build up reading strength (stamina) and speed (Fluency). 

Children- Don't forget to ask an adult at home or your teacher if there are any words you don't understand.

The children will have a spelling text every Friday afternoon and will complete a list of spellings for the week using the look, say, cover, write, check method. The children will bring these home to do some extra practise with you if they would like to. We will also have Maths and Grammar homework available for your child to take home if they would like to complete any extra work. 

P.E.

P.E. is on Thursday mornings but please ensure your child has their P.E. kit in school just in case we have an extra lesson!

Parents and Carers

If any parent or carer has any questions or concerns Mrs Gallagher and Miss Miller are always available to talk at the end of the school day. At the beginning of the day we are with our classes but if it is vital to speak to us straight away please ask at the door.
