Drop off and Collection Arrangements

Drop off arrangements

*where possible, to limit the numbers on site, we ask that one parent/carer enters the drop off one-way circuit*

*The car park remains closed to moving vehicles, becoming a pedestrianised area between 8.15am- 8.45am*

Nursery

Parents/ Carers enter via the KS1 external gate (near the church), walk across the path to the left across the car park, and queue up to the Nursery door.

Reception/Year 1/ Year 2

Parents/ Carers enter via the KS1 external gate (near the church), walk up the path to the drop off point. A member of staff will guide children through in the internal gate and direct them to either the class line or straight round to their classroom (staff will supervise the route). Parents/carers turn left at the drop off point and follow the one-way path round, and exit through the car park exit.

Year 3/ Year 4/ Year 5/ Year 6/ Saltholme

Children should enter through the pupil entrance/ exit gate, next to the car park gate. They should walk down the pathway in front of Mr Barratt’s bungalow and through the internal KS2 gate. Staff will supervise children walking directly to their classrooms.

If parents/carers want to drop off of the internal KS2 gate, they should accompany their child through the main pedestrian gate (opposite the school office), cross the crossing and walk on the pathway in front of the hall. At the end of the path, children should enter the internal KS2 gate and parents/carers should walk across the car park and out of the car park entrance gate.

For children arriving on LA transport, the bus will enter the car park at 8.45am, when the drop off times have finished, and park in the drop off bay. If it arrives earlier, it will be guided in and out of the car park, to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Collection arrangements

*Where possible, to limit the numbers on site, we ask that one parent/carer enters the drop off one-way circuit*

*The car park remains closed to moving vehicles, becoming a pedestrianised area between 2.30pm- 2.50pm*

*Where parents/carers have children in different areas of school, parents/carers should collect the younger children first where possible.*

Nursery

Parents/ Carers enter via the KS1 external gate (near the church), walk across the path to the left across the car park, and queue up to the Nursery door. Children and parents/carers should then follow the one- way route, exiting through the car park exit gate.

Reception/Year 1/ Year 2

All classes will line up near the internal fence for 2.40pm.

Parents/ Carer enter via the KS1 external gate (near the church), walk up the path to the appropriate row on the grassed area. When the grass is very wet, these lines will be on the car park instead.  Staff will watch for the parents/carers of the children in their class, and as they approach the front of their line, will direct children to the internal gate, with staff supervising children being reunited with their parent/carer. Parents/carers with their children, should then turn left and follow the one-way path round, and exit through the car park exit.

Where parents/carers then need to collect KS2 children, they can then join their child’s class line or where the class has already been dismissed, meet their child in front of the school office.

Year 3/ Year 4

Parents/carers should line up in the allocated space for their child’s class between 2.35pm-2.40pm, entering via the pedestrian entrance opposite the main school office.

The lines for Year 3/4 classes will be in the car park in front of the hall.

Classes will line up on the KS2 yard at 2.40pm, with classes moving through the internal KS2 gate one class at a time, and lining along the pupil pathway (in front of Mr Barratt’s bungalow) to either walk up and out of the pupil exit where walking home permission is granted, or wait to be reunited with their parent/carer when they reach the top of the parent/carer line.

Once reunited, parents/carers and children should leave through the car park entrance gate, or move to another KS2 line to repeat the above for any siblings.

Where parents/carers are collecting younger children, and cannot make the line for 2.40pm, as stated above, children will be taken by an adult to congregate in front of the school office where they can be reunited with their parents/carers.

Year 5/ Year 6/ Saltholme

Parents/carers should line up in the allocated space for their child’s class (between 2.40pm-2.45pm), entering via the pedestrian entrance opposite the main school office.

The lines for Year 5/6/ Saltholme classes will be in the car park in front of the community room. Once all Year 3 and Year 4 classes have been dismissed, the Year 5/6/Saltholme lines will move forward to the car park in front of the hall, ready for children coming out at 2.45pm.

Classes will line up on the KS2 yard at 2.45pm, with classes moving through the internal KS2 gate one class at a time, and lining along the pupil pathway (in front of Mr Barratt’s bungalow) to either walk up and out of the pupil exit where walking home permission is granted, or wait to be reunited with their parent/carer when they reach the top of the parent/carer line.
