This Half Term our topic has been Beachcombers.
We have had lots of fun visiting the beach at Hartlepool Headland, learning all about rockpools and the animals that live in them and writing letters in a bottle from a long lost island.

Our topic for this half term is Wriggle and Crawl.
We will be learning all about minibeasts and their habitats. If you see anything wriggling or crawling around at home snap a picture and see what you notice about it!
How many legs does it have? Does it have wings? Are there lots of them or is it one on its own?

Half term 4.
Our topic this half term has been The Scented Garden.
We have learnt about plants in our local environment, what makes plants grow, how to keep plants healthy and much more! We had a fantastic WOW day with a visit from a brilliant Gardener, Paul.
Parents came in to help us to plant potatoes, beans and onions. We loved getting our hands dirty and getting stuck into the planting beds.
We planted individual plants and are looking forward to growing them at home!
We have made scented playdough and will be making scented gifts before the break. We can't wait to share them with you.

In half Term 3 our topic was Land Ahoy!
We learnt about pirates and famous explorers, read pirate books and went on a trip to the Historic Quay!
Parents came in to class 10 to see all of the hard work we had done and we sang sea shanties together like sailors used to.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the parents who got involved by coming into classes to see the work, helping out with our trips and encouraging the children at home. Some fantastic work came in to school and we loved to see what you had been up to and learning about at home.

Last half term we learnt about Muck, Mess and Mixtures.
We did lots of experimenting, lots of art work and even went on a trip!
We had a Messy Mixtures morning in school where we got to play with lots of messy materials like shaving foam, alphabet spaghetti, jelly, clay, mud and washing up liquid.
We had lots of fun feeling all the different textures!
