Science
In Science, we have been learning all about plants. We learned about the different parts of a plant and their functions. We also learned about what a plant needs to grow. We have been investigating what happens when plants are grown in different conditions and environments. We planted seeds and observed how our plants grew over time when one of their needs were taken away, such as light, water, air or space. After, we explored pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal.
Stone Age to Iron Age
Year 3 have been on a journey from the Stone Age to the Iron Age! We began by excavating some Stone Age poo to discover what their diets were like and learned about hunting and gathering. After, we researched types of houses that people lived in during the Stone Age to the Iron Age, and discussed which ones we would rather live in and why. We looked at timelines and thought about how Britain has changed over time. We also explored Stone Age cave paintings, and learned all about the Beaker People. We designed our very own Bronze Age pots and made them using clay. Finally, we evaluated our pots and thought about what we would do differently next time.
