Sketchbooks
At Grange, we highly value creativity and design and the learning that takes place through the process of using sketchbooks to share our individual journeys. Although sketchbooks are not used purely for drawing and painting, we encourage the development of these skills particularly through Art and Design and Design Technology but also by observing and designing for any other areas of the curriculum whenever possible.
Here we aim to share examples of the use of sketchbooks to explore our world and our own creative take on it through drawings, paintings, collage, reflections, photographs and any other ways our pupils wish to demonstrate their perceptions. Maybe you could make a sketchbook to use at home and ask your child to share with you some of the skills they practise at school and you share your ideas and skills with them. Enjoy!
