In Reception, we use the NCETM Mastering Number Programme to develop our fluency with number and White Rose Maths resources to develop our knowledge of shape, space and measure.
This half term we will be focusing on the following

1,2,3,4,5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive
5 Little Men in a Flying Saucer
5 Little Speckled Frogs
Finger Numbers to 5
Showing finger numbers to 5 and being able to name the finger number shown by a teacher or friend.
This is the skill of being able to say how many objects there are in a set without counting. We often use dice and magnets in lessons but this can be done with any objects.
For the example below we would ask 'What do you see?' (3 Paintbrushes) and then 'How do you see it?' (I can see 2 paintbrushes on one side and one on the other side.)
