Grow, Persevere, Succeed. Be the best you can be!
Reading at home provides an opportunity for children to practise and reinforce the skills they have been taught. Children are expected to read at home at least 4 times per week. Home reading is tracked through signing of reading cards and a half termly tracking sheet in each class. If children are not regularly reading at home, the class teacher will speak to parents and the child to identify and address any barriers which are preventing this. Children who are not reading the expected 4 times per week (missing 2 days in a row) will read with an adult from their year group for 5 mins during breaktime.
If there is a problem with your child reading at home please contact Mrs Parkinson or Mrs Steel to see if we can help.
