Grow, Persevere, Succeed. Be the best you can be!
Half Term 1
Science
In Science, we have been learning all about rocks and fossils. We have been sorting and classifying rocks based on their characteristics. We have been looking at how sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks are formed, and what soil is. We have been learning about Mary Anning's career, and have even had a go at excavating some fossils! We also visited the Hartlepool Headland where we explored some rocks in the natural environment.
Geography
In Geography, we have been learning all about the United Kingdom. We have looked at many different countries and cities within the UK. We have identified and compared different locations in the UK by exploring their human and physical features. Using our knowledge, teamwork and oracy skills, we were able to create an amazing tourism video based on the human and physical features of the UK.

Design and Technology
In DT, Year 3 have been exploring different types of tapestries. We have been looking at what textiles are, and looking at famous tapestries, such as the Bayeux Tapestry. After, we practised various joining and finishing techniques. Our DT project was to create a wall tapestry representing the United Kingdom. This project linked to our Geography topic. We each designed and sewed a felt tile representing a human or physical feature of the UK, forming part of a large class tapestry. We are so proud of our perseverance and teamwork.
