Term 2
This term our topic is
Mighty Metals.
We we be learning about life from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, the life and work of George Stephenson and all about magnets and forces.
We visited the National Railway Museum at York to learn more about George Stephenson and The Rocket. We went to a workshop where we found out all about how The Rocket came to be, and George Stephenson's partners. We also had time to explore the museum and see lots of different trains, from the old to the new!
As part of our ICT work this term we are following the Lego WeDo computing programme. We visited Space to Learn to have a go at building lego models and programming them with simple code to move them and get them making sounds.
As part of our topic work this term we made pulley systems, which use magnets. We looked at the designs of different pulley systems, designed our own and then made them in small groups.
