Mighty Metals!
This term we are reading The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. It is a great book and the children are loving the story. We find out about magnetic materials in science investigating which materials are magnetic and trying to find the strongest magnets! In history we learn about the pre-history time where people couldn't write. This includes the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron age.
Our Visit to Palace Green Library
We had a great trip to Palace Green Library to learn about prehistory to kick start our history topic. We looked at real artefacts and learned how archaeologists use skeletons to work out information about the past.
Being Archeologists!
We used pretend 'poo' for the children to investigate what people ate during the stone age. The children dissected the fake poo to look for clues about the diet of people who lived during this time. They found fish bones, raisins, seeds and nuts!
Cave Painting Parent/Carer Event
Wow - what a lot of parents came in for the parent/carers event. Everyone enjoyed painting with sticks.
