Term 1
Frozen Kingdom
Our topic this term is ‘Frozen Kingdom’. We are basing our Geography work on this topic and in science we are learning about how animals are adapted to life in cold climates. We have also learned about the human body, including the circulatory system, and have carried out investigations into the impact of exercise in heart rate.
Class Novel
Our class novel this term is ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. Our English and Reading lessons will be based on this text.
Maths
In Maths this term, we will be focusing on Place Value, the Four Operations and Fractions.
As always, we will practise number facts regularly to improve fluency. We will also work on arithmetic skills in our separate arithmetic sessions.

A Christmas Carol - Billingham Forum
We visited Billingham Forum to watch ‘A Christmas Carol’. We are now going to be studying the novel and creating writing based on the text.
Sunderland University Workshop
Representatives from Sunderland University visited us to talk about career aspirations and which careers require a university degree.
