The Physiotherapist

The Physiotherapist is a health professional who works to help children who have physical or mobility needs.

The physiotherapist supports children with problems that affect muscles, bones, the heart, circulation or lungs. They are trained to evaluate and improve movement and function of the body, with particular attention to physical mobility, balance, posture, fatigue, and pain.

They may sometimes deliver physical therapies or exercise programmes, for individual children in school, or advice on the use of a variety of mobility aids and adaptive equipment.
