Important Information

Nursery times

am - 8.30 - 11.30

pm - 12.15 - 3.15

Please ensure your child has suitable clothing for nursery.

Our children play, get messy and learn through the indoors and the outdoor environment every day.

FRIDAY IS BOOK DAY

Please give yourself an extra 5 minutes every Friday whilst bringing your child, as this time is our allocated book changing time. We encourage daily reading at home in nursery and you are welcome to change your school loan book every week. We shall also be starting a termly visit to Wynyard library after the success of the summer reading scheme by our fab families. :)

Parents - What you can do to help at home

We do not send a homework book in nursery. Each week, there will be a suggested task on the parents Communication board in the cloakroom. This task may be a follow up task from the topic, their phonics or their maths work or a home learning challenge.

e.g. Week 1 - Can you create a pattern? We have been building patterns with blocks and colouring patterns by repeating the same 2 colours. Can your child make a pattern with their toys? Their lego? Some stickers?

Topic Work and Trips

We are going in search of dragons this term and trying to find out if they do, or did, exist. Have a look at our term 2 page to see the evidence so far.

 1. Hardwick Park in Sedgefield - a castle, fairies and a dragon

2. Model dragons made at home!

3. A visit from Madam dragon (the one who taught Zog!)

4. Dragons at Chinese New Year in our Chinese restaurant

5. A dragon in Room on a Broom on World Book Day

If anyone has any other ideas where we might find evidence please let us know

Thanks, Nursery

Who has checked out our learning journey in the nursery corridor? Please try to send in a story from home to add to our journey - home learning is vital!

Happy new year to all of our lovely families

I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and are now ready to get involved in Grange life again. This week, we shall be learning about some people that help us in the community, with visits to the dentist, visits from nurses and fingers crossed, a visit on Friday from the Fire Brigade.

I look forward to reading all of your stories from home from over the holidays.

We have our trip next week on 16th January - please return your forms if you haven't already done so. Wrap up warm as we shall be exploring Wynyard Park and its enchanting gardens.

Also, if you have any lovely photos to share from our Christmas Performance, I would love to share them on here. Please email me on a.cooper@grangeprimaryschool.org

Thankyou

See you soon, Mrs. Cooper
