Trips, Visitors and Special Events

Halloween

To celebrate Halloween, we held a spooky week in Reception and attended the Halloween Disco.

Fire Brigade Visit - Bonfire Night Safety Talk

Antonia from the Fire Brigade came in to visit us and delivered an assembly about fire safety.

We also created some firework pictures in the creative area and discussed if the children were going to firework displays with their families. Lots of children were looking forward to going to the organised display at Seaton Carew.

School Library Visit - Wynnyard Road

We loved walking to Wynnyard Road Library to share books together. There were so many fantastic books to look at and we enjoyed listening to a story altogether too!

Children in Need

In November, we celebrated Children in Need 2022. The children took part in a Pudsey colouring competition, dressed up in their own clothes and participated in the Joe Wicks work out to celebrate the day.

Remembrance

To mark Remembrance Day/ Poppy Day, the children in Reception made their own poppies to pay their respects to war heroes. We took some time to reflect and watched the Poppies Animation  (see link below) to help us to remember these people and their sacrifice.

Cycling Sessions

Each Tuesday in half term 1 and 2, Andy has come into school to help us to improve our bike skills.

World Cup 2022

The children loved supporting the England team at the 2022 Quatar World Cup. It was lovely to see them celebrating the goals together as we watched some of the match in class.

Forest School

We visited Rossmere Forest School in December and they had lots of amazing Christmassy activities prepared for us. We made reindeer food, toasted marshmallows, drank hot chocolate, sang carols, collected jingle bells, visited Santa and created our own robin bird feeders to take back to school with us!  It was a fantastic day and we really appreciated the help from our parent volunteers who came along too.

Christmas 2022

One of the most exciting times of year in school is Christmas. As you can see we had a fantastic time celebrating.

Remember you can still watch our Christmas Performance if you want to. The link is below.smiley
