Home Reading Book/ Reading Practice Book
Each week, on a Thursday, your child will bring home a reading practice book/ home reading book.
Please return this book on a Wednesday so we can exchange it for their new book.
This book has been carefully matched to your child's current reading level. The children will have read this book at least 3 times in their reading groups so they should be fluent and confident when reading them with you at home. If they are reading it with little/no help, please do not worry. The need to develop fluency, automaticity and confidence in their reading.
Listen to your child read their book. Remember to give them lots of praise - celebrate their success. If they struggle to read a word, give them time and if they cannot manage to read it please read it to them. After they have finished, talk about the book together.
When you listen to your child read, please fill in one line on their purple reading card. When the reading card is full, your child will receive a book prize.
