Grow, Persevere, Succeed. Be the best you can be!
Our School Vision
To be the first choice of school for every local child and family.
Our Computing Vision
At Grange Primary School, our vision for Computing is to empower every child to achieve their full potential through a rich, engaging, and inclusive curriculum. We believe that every pupil should have the opportunity to develop essential digital skills, regardless of their background, in an environment that supports and celebrates their individuality.
We strive to create confident, capable, and curious learners who can think like computer scientists, use technology purposefully, and act as responsible digital citizens. Through our computing curriculum, we aim to equip children with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world, inspiring them to use technology creatively, safely, and responsibly to make a positive contribution to society.
What it means to be a computer scientist.
Being a computer scientist at Grange Primary School means being curious, creative, and resilient when solving problems. It involves breaking challenges into manageable steps, thinking logically, and learning from mistakes. Our pupils use these skills to design, create, and improve digital solutions, whether that’s writing code, exploring how systems work, or using technology to express ideas.
A computer scientist is not just someone who uses technology, but someone who understands it—questioning how things work, finding new possibilities, and using their knowledge responsibly to make a positive difference in the world.
Curriculum Design
Our Computing curriculum at Grange Primary School is aligned with the National Curriculum and is built around the three key pillars of computing: Computer Science, Information Technology, and Digital Literacy. These pillars provide a clear and structured framework, ensuring that pupils develop a comprehensive understanding of computing concepts, knowledge, and skills.
Through this approach, we support children in becoming confident problem-solvers, effective users of technology, and responsible digital citizens, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world.

SEND Statement
Grange Primary promotes a curriculum that puts all pupils, regardless of their needs, at the heart of what we do. By building mutual respect, we accept others for their differences believing that everyone is special and everyone has something to offer. Our inclusive and enriching curriculum, written for all children, provides pupils with meaningful and aspirational experiences as well as promoting personal growth for life-long learning. When the curriculum needs adapting, to suit the needs of individual children, appropriate modifications are made by the class teacher with support of the SENDCo and the Curriculum Subject Lead.
Awards for Computing
AT Grange Primary School we have been awarded with the National Centre for Computing Education Computing Quality Mark
Cultural Capital
At Grange Primary School, we are committed to enriching our pupils’ learning in computing by developing their cultural capital. We recognise that cultural capital—the knowledge, skills, experiences, and opportunities that enable children to succeed—is essential in preparing them for life in an increasingly digital world.
To support every child in reaching their full potential, we have carefully mapped opportunities within our Computing curriculum that introduce pupils to a wide range of careers and real-world applications. Through links with STEM ambassadors and a focus on future pathways, we aim to broaden pupils’ horizons, raise aspirations, and inspire them to see the possibilities that technology can offer in their future lives.
