Maths No Problem
We follow the Maths-No Problem! approach inspired by Singapore maths to help children develop a deep and lasting understanding of key concepts. Lessons are carefully structured, building knowledge step by step so all children can succeed.
All children learn using the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract approach, moving from hands-on practical resources to visual representations then to more abstract written methods. Lessons include exploration, discussion, problem-solving and reasoning to help children to understand how to solve problems and why methods work.
Pupils regularly record and reflect on their learning in maths journals,, explaining their thinking in their won words. This helps to build confidence, deepen understanding and develop a love of maths as they progress through school.
